i completely agree. there is a fine line between providing the necessities and spoiling the kids.
and especially in HK and other developed countries..there are those cards that you can put $$ into and the kids can basically buy ANYTHING with those cards. they lose the whole concept of $$. they just know that with that card, they can buy things w.out asking about the price. and when the $$ ran out in the card, they can just tell their parents to put more in it....
the world is becoming more convenient, but ridiculous at the same time.
